Psychic Diner – Week 6 & 7

It’s been…a while since I last updated this. I’ve been working on it the whole time but I didn’t have time to make a post like this. Anyway, let’s get into what’s new!

This week’s snapshot:

What’s New:

  • Small sun icon shows time left in the day in the bottom left
  • Upgrade screen pops up after the day is over
  • Upgrades are purchased with money and affect the station they’re bought for
  • Customers run to (certain) tables and leave when their order is fulfilled (sometimes)

Challenges:

Besides the crazy state of the world and the fact that I moved around a lot in the past few weeks, this went fairly well. Although, I did have my first experience with Unreal’s build only bugs. Those are extremely frustrating. No log errors, takes 3 minutes to build and test, and only happens sometimes. But hopefully I can find the logic errors fairly quickly, as I think I know where to start. We’ll see.

What’s Next:

  • Fix the bugs, especially those that are plaguing the build only version
  • Polish! Get some art, music, and other fun stuff to jazz this up
