My Turn Based, Card Based, Deck Building Racing Game – Post 2

My Turn Based, Card Based, Deck Building Racing Game finally has a name, and it’s Burndown! This is the final prototype for the game, although I can see myself working on it more in the future, because this was a really fun project for me! Since the last post, I’ve added:

  • A card building menu before the race starts which shows:
    • All the different cards you can choose from
    • Your deck size and how many cards are in the deck
    • A sample of the track you’ll be racing on
    • A visual slider showing the compilation of your deck
  • Slow down periods in place of complete time stops (to simulate turns)
  • Card drawing
  • Card playing and card effects

Here’s a video of it in action!

This was a ton of work to get right, but I’m really happy with how it came out. Granted, since it’s still a prototype, I have a few bugs I need to fix, and there is a lot of room for UX improvement. But, I have to say that Burndown is really really fun, and I can see myself polishing it up this summer and releasing it! I already have a great pipeline for making levels, and all the other features I want to add are just for polish.
