Applying for a Level Design Internship – Post 1

Hello again! So I have finally finished my specific sketches of my map! Before I start, I want to say that the images posted here are my Low Resolution copies. After finishing mapping it out in Adobe Illustrator, the High Quality export dimensions were 30560 x 19206! So if you want to see the full versions, I have them hosted on Google Drive here for you to check out!

First I want to show off the basic map. There is a legend showing off all the different shapes you see.

But what good is this to a team if you don’t have dimensions? So next I have all the walls and spaces marked with dimensions. If you see something that doesn’t look like it has dimensions on it, look for similar objects around it.

And this is great, but you still don’t get the sense of verticality. To fix this, I made a height map.

Next up, I’m going to be blocking this out in Unreal Engine so that I can get a real feeling of what the level would feel like. If you have any questions about this project, I’d be happy to answer them. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this, because I’ve certainly enjoyed making it. Until next time!
